Friendship
I came across this quote “Friends are like television. Some are like PBS and always asking for money. Others are like the news, with sad tales to tell everyday, some are like that one station with the foreign language; you don't understand a word of it but you listen and watch.” it made me realize how true it is, and how hard it is to find good and loyal friends. As you grow up and you expierence different things it makes you realize who really has your back and who is along for the ride, but when things get tough they just bail. Coming into college i didnt know what to expect and im happy to say that i have found a lot of friends that i know i can trust and i know will be there for me in the end. I have had those kinds of friends that are just there so you can help them out, or give them money when they need it. The ones who make their lives seem to be horrible, and when you have good news they just shut you up and talk about their bad news. Then i had the type of friends where i thought, why am i even friends with them? Theyre nothing like me at all. I think that friendship is something that should be truly valued and not taken for granted. If you find a true friend then hold on to them because there arent too many true and loyal people in the world today. I find that it is better to surround yourself with good people, and even if you have a best friend who youve known for years, and you have drifted apart just remember that there is a reason that they didnt make it to your future. I have lost some friends in the past, but as a result of that i have gained even better ones!

Needs a bit more of a philosophical umph here.
Question: are you friends with someone because they're loyal and true, because of what they can give you like goodness, or are loyalty, truth, and goodness traits you find in friends but are not why you are necessarily friends with them?
